Farmers and businessmen tryna earn the haul
Here is a tale ‘bout my farmers on the hills
Struggling with erosion naww life won’t be too chill

Life can hard when you’re planting on a hill
and when the rain comes you wish you didn’t till
When the water causes runoff, the nutrients go
No topsoil left for planting
Organic matters gone with the flow
If you’re a hillside farmer, erosion ain’t no friend
You want a high yield?
I have things to recommend

Number 1 I say, don’t leave your soils bare
The rain will do more harm if no coverage is there
Crop residues can hold the soil in place,
Reducing erosion and it will keep the soil moist
Keep the crop residue
Solution number two, may be right for you
Hmm
Terraces prevent erosion on da hills
Guiding the runoff by ridges and channels
Be guaranteed you are gunna break a sweat
Cuz terracing is hard but the benefits you won’t regret
If terraces are not working it for you
Solution number three may be the one to thrill

Alley cropping is technique for the win
Runoff will be reduced and you will even get some fruit
By planning rows of trees between the rows of crops
Water will be absorbed and less nutrients are lost
If alley cropping with fruit trees doesn’t make you go WEEE
Try useful scrubs or nitrogen fixing trees

Solution number four
No tilling could be the fix
You leave behind the old crop
When you plant the new
No plow is going to mix up this crop residue

After solution number five, it’s time to say goodbye

Now if you gotta plant on the side of the hill
Do not plant a straight line, naww contours are more chill
Plant across the slope and follow the contour of the land
Runoff can be controlled and water is better absorbed
To my farmer’s in Nepal tryna grow their crops
